Irish Senator Craughwell being spot on here regarding the embarrassing defencelessness of Ireland. It’s been decades since we had a government that took defence anyway seriously. Goodness knows I been involved with the submission of multiple papers on the matter over the years and have delivered lectures on the topic too. In the 1980’s, when I first joined the FCA/Reserves, Ireland was vastly better manned and equipped to face the threats of its time than it now is to face the threats of this time. Its neglect wrought by strategic incompetence.
