Today marked my last day with Local World colleagues and tomorrow I'm looking forward to joining the Newsquest team as my new contract starts - still as Local Democracy Reporter for Calderdale, albeit at a new base and with a different email address.

The mobile testing unit at Todmorden Leisure Centre is now closed. Testing is still available at Rose Street today and tomorrow, and from Wednesday 23 - Saturday 26 June, or you can get tested at St Peters Primary School, Walsden this weekend. More info: https://t.co/TUMj5D53XP

#Calderdale Council Cabinet agrees to recommend to full council that it accepts learning in harrowing report into deaths of 5 men living street based lives. #LDReporter 1/5
And they approved Highways Capital Programme for 2021-22, funding including £2m award from Govt for dealing with potholes though less than last year and overall Govt is giving the council £1.37m less this year to maintain highways. Highways spending will add up to over £5m. 3/3
#Calderdale Council Cabinet committed money in several areas, including £1.97 million needed to make its major depot at Ainley, Elland, fit for purpose and meeting health and safety requirements such as keeping pedestrians and vehicles as separate as possible. #LDReporter 1/3
They will also link up with Rochdale Council to create a community rail partnership for the Calder Valley line, helping existing community groups and pressing the case for rail as part of COVID recovery, at a first year cost of £20,000. 2/3
Developing the Calderdale Cares plan will for an important part of the latter - moving from a system that's difficult for people to navigate to supporting people where they are - moves also approved by Cabinet. 5/5
