June 6th 1944… D-Day… A “Great” battle in history. Part of me wants to point out that the Battleship Texas, currently in Galveston, is the only remaining battleship to take part in the D-Day invasion. She also took part in Iwo Jima! Part of me wants to point out that my great uncle was killed there (D-Day +4). But all of me wants to say never again should people be put through such horror. For what? Why do we do this to each other. For ideology? For our beliefs? I believe lots of things! What do you believe that is worth killing someone over? Don’t get me wrong, there is a time to kill, and that is in self defense. That is my belief. I also believe we should go sailing.
