Energy Suppliers Plead With Government To Scrap Green Levies Forcing Bills Through The Roof , Testimony Straight From Parliament Demolishes All Labour Net Zero Claims⚡️💡

In a devastating blow to Keir Starmer and Ed Miliband's net zero dream, Britain's major energy suppliers laid bare the harsh reality in Parliament on 15 October 2025: Labour's green policies are driving household bills relentlessly upward, regardless of what happens to global gas or wholesale prices.

Ed Miliband has repeatedly insisted that high energy bills stem purely from volatile global fossil fuel markets. That narrative has now been comprehensively demolished by the very industry executives Labour claims to champion.

Chris Norbury, CEO of E.ON UK, delivered the killer line that exposes the whole net zero con:

"Some of the modelling that we have suggests that you could get to a position by 2030 where if the wholesale price was zero, bills would still be the same as they are today because of the increase in those non-commodity costs."

This means astonishingly even if wholesale costs fell to zero, bills would STILL not fall, and could even rise further, due to the explosion in policy-driven charges.

Rachel Fletcher, Director of Regulation and Economics at Octopus Energy, piled on the pressure with equally brutal warnings:

"If we continue on the path we’re on now, electricity prices are going to be 20% higher in 4 or 5 years time than they are now. And that’s even if wholesale prices halve."

"Non-commodity costs are adding about £300 onto a typical bill."

"The country as a whole at the moment, is paying over £20 billion a year on their electricity bills for policy costs. The projections are that that is going to increase. That will add another £100 to bills over the next four years."

These non-commodity costs, green levies, renewable subsidies, network upgrades for electrification, and constraint payments to turn off excess wind power, are the direct result of the net zero agenda pushed by Miliband and Starmer.

Energy bosses are effectively pleading with the government to scrap or reform the green levies that are forcing bills through the roof.

This testimony, straight from the suppliers' mouths in a formal parliamentary session, fully demolishes Labour's claims that net zero will deliver cheaper energy for families.

The evidence is undeniable: net zero isn't saving money, it's baking in permanently higher bills, even in a dream scenario of free wholesale power.

The face of Manchester United, Marcus Rashford, one of the highest earners at over £325k a week, is being passed around by Barcelona like a short-term fix.

This is the same player who made it clear he only wanted Barcelona. A full year later, they’re still not willing to commit. They want another loan. Not even at a reported €30m fee.

Let that sink in.

A club that has bent financial rules, pulled levers, and chased elite talent across Europe is hesitating over Rashford. Not because they can’t move, but because they’re not convinced he’s worth moving for.

If he was truly that level, Barcelona wouldn’t be negotiating extensions on a loan. They’d be finding a way to close the deal immediately.

But here we are.

And this is where United fans need to be honest with themselves. You don’t pay a player superstar wages, brand him the face of the club, then watch Europe treat him like a temporary option.

That’s not disrespect from Barcelona. That’s market value speaking.

We’ve spent years inflating egos, protecting performances that don’t match the status, and calling it loyalty. Now reality is hitting, and it’s uncomfortable.

INEOS should not bend. Not this time.

If there was an obligation to buy, enforce it. No renegotiations, no sympathy deals, no extensions disguised as strategy. Either Barcelona pay up, or Rashford comes back and faces the standards his wages demand.

Because at some point, the club has to stop carrying players who aren’t carrying their weight.

And fans need to stop confusing moments for consistency, and hype for elite level.

The UK North Sea

The Uk government hasn’t issued any new drilling licenses since January 12, 2023.

That’s no new licenses for 3 years and 2 months.
Not one.

When the Labour government took power in July 2024, they implemented a pledge to stop issuing new oil and gas exploration licenses for the North Sea.

INEOS who own and operate the Forties Pipeline have said they can no longer make maintenance investments in it, as the government has rendered the industry inoperable.

The UK has 280 offshore platforms and 20,000 oil and gas wells. There’s no capital to maintain anything, or reinvest, because the tax is excruciatingly high.

This industry is on the brink of collapse, the pipelines are knackered and unmaintained, because of our own policy choices… as the world plunges headlong into a global energy crisis.

Truly the most feckless, self-harming policy set in all of Europe, if not the world.

I don’t think this is incompetence, nobody is that stupid, it looks more like sabotage.

It’s also illegal to complain about the UK government, especially here on the internet.

The government is bankrupt and has been for twenty years.

Not visibly, not officially, but functionally.

The debt is £2.87 trillion. The interest alone is £100 billion a year.

The only number that stops the bond market pulling the plug on Britain overnight is the debt-to-GDP ratio staying below 100%.

To keep that ratio stable you need the GDP number to keep growing.

The fastest way to grow GDP is to add bodies. Not productive bodies necessarily.
Just bodies.

Because even an immigrant sitting in a hotel in Rochdale eating a meal the government paid for with borrowed money gets counted as economic activity.

The hotel revenue goes into GDP.
The food supplier revenue goes into GDP.
The borrowed pound that funded all of it gets quietly added to the £2.87 trillion and the ratio stays at 96% instead of 101% and the bond market stays calm for another quarter and the Chancellor keeps his job.

That is the entire mechanism.
The housing crisis, the dissolved infrastructure, the unrecognisable high streets, your children who cannot afford homes, the pensioners choosing between heating and eating.... these are not accidental side effects of a well-meaning policy that went wrong.
They are the acceptable collateral damage of a decision made by people who needed the GDP number to stay up long enough to retire comfortably before the whole thing becomes undeniable.

The reason nobody in Westminster will explain this is that the explanation ends with a question they cannot answer.

If the debt is the problem, who accumulated it, who profits from the interest, and why are the people who had no say in accumulating it the ones being asked to pay for it with their country.

So instead they call it diversity and tell you that noticing is racism.
