What happens when you disagree with the Supreme Court - well it’s your opinion and it does not count for much. Find another case and another time and bring it forth again. Supreme Court Decision in the Birthright Citizenship Case https://t.co/Rs8N2vx5rm via @NYTimes
@BattaKashmiri#notPearlharbor#RussianUkraineWar In 1941 the USA was not at war with Japan. Japan started the war against USA. In 2025 Russia was into its 3rd year of an unprovoked attack against Ukraine. #Spiderweb attack was just great tactical jujitsu.
As I write this, almost exactly to the hour, 45 years ago today, I was walking on Laurier Street with a couple of my friends in Montreal.
We stopped at a Dépanneur to buy some beer.
To our shock, the person at the counter said that he couldn’t sell us any beer because of the vote on that day.
We told him that that was not important since we were too young to vote. On any other day, we could purchase beer, but not on election day in Quebec.
That was the day much of Canada held its breath to learn if Quebec would move forward with its plan for sovereignty-association. A majority of 59.56% of Québecois voted “Non” and 40.44% voted “Oui”.
With Alberta contemplating these issues, think of the tumult that day and it’s progeny - the Lake Meech Accord of 1992 and the 1995 Referendum caused to the economy and fabric of Quebec and Canada.
As a 16 year old I was not overly concerned, but I have built up a great deal of perspective.
@ianbremmer Is it the end of globalization or a rejiggering of globalization with just a shadow where the USA plays a much smaller role? https://t.co/lxsvC9MCXm
I am stepping up to lead the Liberal Party of Canada and become our nation’s next Prime Minister.
Canada is an extraordinary country with immense potential, but we face serious challenges that require bold leadership.
Over the past 35 years, I’ve built successful businesses from the ground up, creating thousands of good-paying jobs and supporting Canadian families. As an engineer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, I’ve dedicated my life to solving tough problems and creating opportunities that make a difference. These experiences have prepared me to tackle Canada’s challenges head-on, with practical solutions that get results.
From 2015 to 2019, I had the honour of serving as the Member of Parliament for Pierrefonds-Dollard. During that time, I championed Canadian innovation, supported human rights, and collaborated across party lines to address systemic challenges. I sat on the Industry, Foreign Affairs, and Ethics & Privacy Committees and spearheaded initiatives like Bill 231, a multi-partisan effort to improve how Parliament functions for all Canadians.
After my term in Parliament, I returned to the private sector—not to retire from public service, but to deepen my impact as an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and community builder. I’ve supported countless charities, mentored young entrepreneurs, and continued to focus on creating opportunities that benefit Canadians.
Now, I’m ready to lead Canada into a brighter future. As your leader, I will focus on making life more affordable for families, addressing economic challenges head-on, and investing in Canadian industries and innovation to create good-paying jobs. I will champion fiscal responsibility to strengthen our economy and prioritize solutions that unite our country. My goal is to ensure every Canadian—regardless of where they live or who they are—has the opportunity to thrive.
This is why I’m running: to unite our country, deliver tangible results for all Canadians, and lead Canada into a stronger, more inclusive, and prosperous future. Together, we can unleash the full potential of this remarkable country.
