$2,000 for a sewer repair... should it really look like this? 🛠️🤨

I'm looking for some honest opinions from anyone with plumbing experience.

I recently paid nearly $2,000 to have a section of my sewer line repaired in my yard. After the job was finished, I took a closer look and was surprised by what I saw. The new white PVC pipes have heavy purple primer stains around the joints, and one section is connected with a metal band clamp.

When I asked the plumber about the appearance, he told me the purple primer, glue, and banded coupling are all standard for sewer repairs and that the stains don't affect the quality of the work. Still, for the amount I paid, I expected something that looked a little cleaner and more professional.

For those who've had similar repairs or work in plumbing, is this actually normal? Are the purple primer stains and metal band clamp considered standard practice, or would you expect a cleaner-looking installation for a job at this price?

I'm trying to figure out whether I'm worrying over nothing or if my concerns are justified.
