El señor ministro de educación, muy bien “peinadito” como siempre, fue por lana y salió trasquilado, se puso de loquito viejo a responderle al senador Omar Fernández, y este le devuelve con un lanzamiento de los que ponchan con un solo strike.

En sus palabras lo único que demuestra el señor Decamps, es que le encanta usar adjetivos calificativos para esconder su ignorancia sobre los temas puestos a su cargo; “infundadas”, “temerarias”, “tremendismos”, son las palabras que adornan su repuesta, típico de quien ignora un tema, pues la descalificación generalmente enmascara la ignorancia.

Solo que ahí Omar le envía los links de los datos publicados por el mismo ministerio que Decamps encabeza, donde se demuestra la presencia de los miles de haitianos que fueron denunciados como ocupando aulas donde deberían estar niños dominicanos.

Se le fue el tiro al ministro, la próxima vez debería investigar antes de hablar.

As of 4:30 pm today the U.S. Geological Survey has officially designated the former Lake Ontario to be renamed as Lake America in all official USGS electronic documents.

The change will begin occurring in printed documents over the next several days.  

This change has also been made official in the Geographic Names Information System.

Nvidia is trading almost completely independent of the broader semiconductor sector:

The 3-month correlation between the semiconductor index, $SOX, and Nvidia, $NVDA, stands at just 0.03, the lowest among all index components.

This is despite Nvidia having the largest market cap of all $SOX constituents.

By comparison, Intel, $INTC, has a 3-month correlation with $SOX of above 0.90, the highest among all stocks in the index.

Similarly, Taiwan Semiconductor, $TSM, and Micron, $MU, both have correlations with the index just below 0.90.

Nvidia is no longer trading like a typical semiconductor stock.

The US housing market is exceptionally weak:

The US Pending Home Sales Index fell -2.3% MoM in July, to 71.2 points, the 2nd-lowest on record.

The gauge has collapsed -36% since July 2021 and remains down -33% from pre-pandemic levels.

Last month’s weakness was broad-based, with all 4 major US regions posting monthly declines.

The West recorded the steepest drop, falling -7.7% MoM to an all-time low, now -47.4% below its July 2021 level.

The South, the nation's largest home-selling region, fell -2.2% MoM to its lowest level since January 2025, down -36.2% since July 2021.

At the same time, pending home sales in the Northeast decreased -2.0% MoM, down -31.2% over the last 5 years.

US housing activity continues to deteriorate.
