OpenAI just gave Pro users a 24/7 AI employee 😳
It’s called dots. Tibo, who leads Codex, just announced it.
Think of it as an always-on agent that keeps working for you in the background.
It gets its own computer and browser, and can connect to more than 4,000 apps. You can give it feedback so it learns how you like things done, and you can jump in and talk to it anytime while it’s working.
The biggest part: it doesn’t count against your usage limits.
It runs on Astra, one of OpenAI’s strongest models, and it’s included with Pro without eating into your normal quota.
Yesterday, Tibo said the new $200 Pro plan would effectively provide about half the API-dollar value of the old plan. He also hinted that OpenAI would add more things that don’t count against usage limits.
Looks like this is one of them.
For now, every Pro user gets one primary dot. Later, you’ll apparently be able to build an entire team of them.
People in the replies are already asking why Plus users don’t get it. The original post only mentioned Pro.
So the trade-off seems to be:
Pro gets roughly half the old API-equivalent usage, but gains a 24/7 AI employee that doesn’t consume quota.
Would you take that deal?
