In 2013, at the instruction of Uhuru Kenyatta's regime,
Kimani Ichungwa, the then chairman of the Budget committee, sneaked a constitutional amendment which interfered with:
• Article 206 (2), (3), (4) of the Public Finance Chapter, — Chapter 12 of COK.
Thereby, giving Uhuru the power to borrow unlawfully and withdraw money at source rather than from the Consolidated Fund.
He would withdraw money without the sanction of Parliament or the Controller of Budget.
This is why the Auditor General cannot trace the origin of some of those monstrous debts we are paying.
We are not condemning Uhuru enough.
Call him out!
This is the person who put us in the whole public financial mess. He should be called out.
I have seen Gachagua stooges milking this clip & distorting President Ruto's words for their own selfish narrow interests!
You never supported Raila Odinga but you want to shout from the mountain top & try to advise the luo nation based on your emotions. Prepare for TUTAM.
Edwin Sifuna, “skiza ground” is a DCP party lexicon, it doesn’t belong in ODM.
ODM is not a roadside movement; it is an institution built on ideology and structures.
The party has well-established organs like the Central Committee and the National Executive Council (NEC), which deliberate, decide, and chart the party’s course.
These organs will guide ODM’s future aspirations and political direction.
That is not to say that ODM will not listen to the ground, it always has, and always will. But the distinction must be clear: ODM doesn’t get led by the ground; ODM guides the ground.
It guided the ground at its inception to reject the Kilifi constitutional draft. It guided the ground to embrace the principle of decentralization that birthed devolution. It guided the ground in moments of political uncertainty, turning mass frustration into organized reform.
Politics is complex and without structure, the ground may feel the pulse of the people, but it is the party that must interpret, channel, and transform that energy into strategic political action.
That is the ODM way||
Cyprian Nyamkundu and other bloggers have refused to mourn Raila,
and then they want us to join their fight against Cyber crime law.
Round hii they are all alone.
Raila knew he was going to leave us.
He was going to leave us now or in a span of 10 years.
He knew we had a better chance inside government than being outside when he is gone.
Mzee left us in government. No one will dare remove us.
Ruto has touched my heart with this tribute speech on Raila Odinga.
Ruto is genuine and he loves us for real.
For the first time,we have a president who loves luos.
We will not take this for granted.
Kumi bila break.
Dear SIFUNA, the ODM Party is not one of those “skiza ground” parties where even when the ground is shallow-minded and simple-minded and is pulling their leader to the abyss, then all you do is follow.
The great lesson I leant from Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga is that the leadership GIVES DIRECTION.
In ODM, the instructions are TOP-DOWN.
Hiyo yako ya KUSKIZA GROUND is a GACHAGUA language and I have no FEAR at all in telling YOU that ni TAKA TAKA.
Dear Martha Karua @MarthaKarua you still owe Kenyans an explanation.
Why did you swear in Kibaki at night?
Before Raila Odinga is laid to rest tomorrow, you owe his supporters an apology for stealing their victory in 2007.
And you owe the victims of the 2007–2008 post-election violence an apology too. Their lives have never been the same.
You owe this nation accountability because you helped break it.
Raila Odinga was a true champion of democracy. A child of independence, he endured decades of struggle and sacrifice for the broader cause of freedom and self-governance in Kenya. Time and again, I personally saw him put the interests of his country ahead of his own ambitions. Like few other leaders anywhere, he was willing to choose the path of peaceful reconciliation without compromising his core values. Through his life, Raila Odinga set an example not just for Kenyans, but across Africa and around the world. I know he will be missed. Michelle and I send our deepest condolences to his family and to the people of Kenya.
