Troy Parrott has officially signed for Real Betis on a five-year deal until 2031, completing a transfer from AZ Alkmaar worth up to €20 million.

From leaving Ireland as a teenager, through the difficult loan spells in England, to rebuilding his career in the Netherlands, Parrott will now lead the line in La Liga and the Champions League for one of Spain’s leading clubs.

A brilliant move for Irish football too, with his former schoolboy club Belvedere set to receive around €200,000 from the transfer.

At 24 years old, Parrott is entering the biggest chapter of his career yet.
