We don’t have 60 votes for the House-passed SAVE America Act
But we do have a simple majority
Given the bill’s widespread bipartisan popularity, we could pass it with a simple majority—by debating it until it passes
I explain how in this clip

Very sorry for the loss of our friend, Josh Baer, in the jet crash last night.
Our Austin tech ecosystem is booming in large part due to his early and constant advocacy & enthusiasm.
Josh was building here for years, over a decade before we moved to town. We’d often share notes; I appreciated his perspective and was proud to be a small supporter of his, as he helped so many.
Tayler and I send our thoughts and prayers to his many friends and family.
Deeply saddened to hear of the tragic passing of @CapitalFactory founder and my friend, @JoshuaBaer. Josh was an innovative & creative leader in Austin’s entrepreneurial culture and a stalwart supporter of growing Central Texas’ military ecosystem. I and countless others will greatly miss him.
It’s regrettable that the president has directed Jay Clayton not to appear at his confirmation hearing today. Mr. Clayton is a patriot and a highly qualified nominee, as the president has said repeatedly. While today’s hearing is now unfortunately postponed, I look forward to proceeding with his confirmation in the near future.

Good news for TX. Made possible, in part, by Sen @JohnCornyn’s #CHIPS Act. “More than 1K jobs will be created as a result of the initiative. @CoherentCorp's Sherman facility produces wafers used in high-speed lasers & devices that enable AI data centers.” https://t.co/bO5w44dCcv
Great meeting with U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton to discuss his nomination to serve as Director of @ODNIgov. I am confident that he will protect the nation from our adversaries.
After Democrats played politics with our national security and let FISA Section 702 lapse, it is imperative that we vote to confirm him and renew Section 702 as soon as possible, especially given current threats to American interests worldwide. I look forward to voting in favor of Clayton’s nomination in the Senate Intelligence Committee & confirming him when his nomination comes to the Senate floor.
🚨 A plane with ties to Texas A&M is at the center of a tragic military aviation accident.
The U.S. Air Force B-52H Stratofortress that crashed Monday near Edwards Air Force Base in California, killing all eight people on board, was tail number 60-0061 — an aircraft known to many Aggies as the “Spirit of Aggieland.”
The bomber earned that nickname while under the command of former Aggie and then-307th Bomb Wing Commander Colonel Bruce Cox, who helped dedicate the aircraft to Texas A&M.
Over the years, the plane made several appearances connected to Aggieland, including a memorable 2017 flyover above Kyle Field and College Station during the retirement flight for Colonel Cox.
The aircraft also carried signed flags from Texas A&M teams, including the Lady Aggies basketball team and the Aggie baseball team during its College World Series run.
It’s important to note that the crew members who died in Monday’s crash were not the same crew involved in the 2017 flyover or retirement flight.
For many Aggies, “Spirit of Aggieland” was more than just a military aircraft. It was a unique symbol connecting Texas A&M’s traditions with the men and women serving our country.
Thank you to Mr. Mike Guidry for sharing these photos and memories.
Please keep the families, friends, and fellow service members of those lost in your thoughts and prayers. ❤️🇺🇸

Focus on what you can control.
Build something. Anything.
A product. Yourself. A family. Your community. A team. Relationships.
Or help someone else build theirs.
Don’t complain. Don’t play the victim.
Ever.
What are you building?

Had a positive interview with Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, who has been nominated for the Senate-confirmed job by @POTUS. He committed to further briefing on the tax audit issue involving President Trump and his family. I will not make a decision on confirmation until after that briefing and completion of his hearing before the committee. @SenJudiciaryGOP
