Kevin De Bruyne injured his hamstring in mid April 2023 at the Allianz arena. This was an injury that it would typical take 6 weeks to recover from.

At this time, there were 6 weeks of the season left, and 13 crucial games.

With the full support of De Bruyne and Guardiola, the performance team, comprising more than 30 staff in total, used daily ultrasound scans, strength markers, individual training, and cherry-picked games to navigate De Bruyne through the treble push.

De Bruyne put his body at massive risk to help his team and ultimately bring home the treble.

It was a sacrifice that saw him exit the field early in Istanbul, as he severely injured his hamstring.

We will never forget this selflessness.
