🏴 Lone’er Kavanagh
Firstly, I want to apologise for the extremely late posts today, normally you know i’m on top of UFC early and normally I provide an analysis for most of my picks because I love seeing peoples reactions when I call a fight perfectly but the weather in England has been insane recently so i’ve just been enjoying it as we don’t get sun like this often.
Look, let me start of by saying this, I rarely ever throw the word “LOCK” around because I’ve been sports betting for years now, I more than anyone understands how anything can happen at any moment, especially in a fight but all we can do as touts is tape fights, look at the data and use our brains to make the best decision, so all I mean by lock here is its my most confident pick on the card.
I’ve backed Lone’er Kavanagh in all of his UFC fights, including the upset over Brandon Moreno and the upsetting loss to Charles Johnson. There is nobody that can deny the kids talent: speed, precision, mixes in grappling, insanely high fight IQ, distance management and explosivness… the list goes on and on. Look only a blind man can deny this kids ceiling and he will 100% be a champion one day.
The fight he lost to Charles Johnson was a complete fluke, Kavanagh was completely dominatint Johnson and styling on him, got abit cocky and left his hands down leaving the pocket against a taller striker and paid the price but that might just be the best thing to happen to him because he is still young and now he’s only matured into an even better fighter and everybody is going to take a loss at some point, especially a young guy like him. If they ever had a rematch Kavanagh would win easily.
Now here’s the even more important part. Brandon Royval… got to give him his flowers, absolute dog of a fighter, another taller fighter that could easily do the same to Kavanagh as Johnson did but here’s the thing…
We took Josh Van to beat him, coming into that fight Royval was dealing with a pretty serious concussion issue, it was so bad he had to sit in dark rooms, his speech was slurring and he had to wear sunglasses inside because of the concussions and I mean don’t put too much thought into this because he did come out and have a three round war with Van right after this and Van is the champion, he then went on to get knocked out very quickly by Manel Kape in his next fight, who again, is a future champ with freakish power for the division but going back to what I said earlier… I see Kavanagh as a future champ too.
Running out of characters but the bottom line is this: young future champion, coming off his biggest win ever is fighting a guy who has come off two brutal losses, had concussion issues and took alot of damage. I really think Royval has peaked and is now beginning to regress and I think this is the perfect fight for Kavanagh to back up his win over Moreno. Its obvious the kid has a buzz and the UFC are giving him another favourable matchup here against a guy I believe is on the decline. Kavanagh by round three KO, also look out for Kavanagh to attack the legs!
