@PrinceImp1877 This one was straight umpire error tho. Just should have called him play on. I also find it weird that players have 30swcs to begin their approach. Players could probs milk it to closer to 50 seconds. Why can’t they just stop the clock like they do for a ball-up?
@_Biiggie@vcg47@Upthemightypies@SwoopLuke Despite being a massive eagles nuff, I honestly wasn’t pressing it for that reason. Eags kicked 2.6 in last qtr, including multiple very gettable ones. This fk didn’t cause the loss - in fact, waterman was 50/50 at best based on his kicking recently
@_Biiggie@vcg47@Upthemightypies@SwoopLuke But starting to try to effectively dispose isn’t prior even if he could have disposed in a different way. I think I can see it better and cheers for responding genuinely. I really don’t think this is consistently adjudicated if that’s the correct interpretation.
@vcg47@_Biiggie@Upthemightypies@SwoopLuke Ah that’s so good, thanks for the video and explanation. I was reading the rules and trying to understand this better and was googling to try get video like this.
@_Biiggie@vcg47@Upthemightypies@SwoopLuke So is prior relative to which way you choose to dispose of it? Or are you saying you can have time to handball of it but that’s still not prior opportunity?
@_Biiggie@vcg47@Upthemightypies@SwoopLuke Yeah cool, that makes sense. So he took 3 or 4 steps as he was steadying to kick but that’s not prior? How would that play out different if he just hand balled it straight away?
@vcg47@Upthemightypies@SwoopLuke The rule says if have prior and tackled, you must immediately (ironic given players are often spun 360 and not called) dispose of the ball correctly. If no prior and you attempt to dispose but don’t or it’s knocked out, it’s not htb. Do you think this situation fitted the latter?
@MarkGottlieb The rule is quite simple and it’s clearly htb BUT one like this where the ball comes back and he then disposes correctly feels weird to then be a free kick.
@Upthemightypies@SwoopLuke I think the sheer number of people that disagree with you and the inconsistencies we see each game with htb decisions tend to indicate it isnt that clear. Just calling people uneducated or scums or eagles fans doesn’t prove your point.
@AJG_87 This is such a good idea. Sould make a lot of sense. Could even have him start at centre bounce and then move back and the mid starts off the fwd line.
@fromthe_topdeck@interest7v1 As a lifelong supporter and player, I’m embarrassed to admit I don’t understand incorrect disposal. If you throw, that’s simple but players often drop the ball once tackled and it’s play on. There’s no obligation to dispose legally - more about not disposing illegally.
@_birch14_ Love that takeaway. Completely agree with everything. I’m desperate to see Hewett get a chance as a mid with Yeo playing more fwd to accommodate but don’t really see that happening.
