@EnvyAU_@flag_crows@RalphyHeraldSun@FOXFOOTY That’s the risk the player takes. How often does a player take 30 seconds from outside 50 if it’s not to waste time.
For all I care only apply it in the last 5 mins of the 4th quarter.
@EnvyAU_@flag_crows@RalphyHeraldSun@FOXFOOTY It’s really not that hard. Harry gave it nothing & just popped it up to the top of the square. That’s what they always do
If you don’t want any grey areas then you can make it if you don’t score from it (it can be punched over the line).
@JohnnyinternetI@vcg47@Upthemightypies@SwoopLuke Yeah for sure. I’d be fuming too probably if it was against the pies.
I understand why they don’t pay those but sometimes you’ve just gotta reward the tackler
@fromthe_topdeck@maxlaughton There is a time wasting rule. Umps can call play on at their discretion if they think the player is wasting time (looking at the time on the screen while directly in front)
@JohnnyinternetI@vcg47@Upthemightypies@SwoopLuke I think the easiest way to view it is if DBJ had tucked the ball under his arm he is using that as his prior.
But then you get into the grey area of knocked out in the tackle & if it isn’t they’ll probably call ball up anyway unless he ran like 5 metres
@Pic332370624954@AFL_LOTG@philschultz11@hasumpstuffedup Well no. That’d be a throw as you can’t handball with only one hand
But you see plenty of times when a player is tackled without prior & they try to handball but miss the ball.
@dylbob04@NatMartin30@EagleHuey Look at how he handles the ball. Receives it on his left, immediately swings to the right & starts his kicking action.
@rohrsy@hasumpstuffedup If we want the rule to be interpreted like this then there’ll be 200 free kicks a game. You’re asking for every tackle which results in the ball being knocked out to be called HTB
