To everyone feeling the anger, frustration, insecurity and sheer anxiety about where Britain is heading — you’re not imagining it.

You can feel it everywhere.

On X. In the pub. In the shops. At the gym. Around the dinner table.

People are talking in a way they simply weren’t a few years ago.

And I’ve come to see something differently.

This isn’t just anger. It’s an awakening. 🇬🇧

For years we were told everything was fine.

That our borders were under control.

That our Armed Forces were properly equipped.

That our energy security was assured.

That ever-rising taxes and living costs were simply the price of progress.

That ordinary people should just accept less, expect less and keep their mouths shut.

Well, people aren’t buying it anymore.

The cracks are now impossible to ignore.

Our defence capability is under intense scrutiny. Our borders remain a source of enormous public frustration. Energy security and household costs continue to bite. Even the government is now talking openly about national resilience and preparing households for disruption.

And when people start asking very basic questions — Who is actually in charge? Who is protecting our borders? Are we properly prepared? Can our Armed Forces fight the wars we may actually have to fight? What kind of country are we leaving our children? — you know something fundamental has changed.

The most important thing is this:

People are awake.

They’re questioning.

They’re talking.

They’re challenging.

They’re refusing to be shouted down or made to feel guilty for caring about their own country.

And that matters.

Because governments can ignore individuals.

They can ignore a few angry voices.

But they cannot permanently ignore millions of ordinary people who have reached the same conclusion at the same time.

This isn’t about hatred.

It’s about wanting a country that is secure, confident, prosperous and proud of itself again.

A country with controlled borders.

A serious defence capability.

Reliable energy.

Safe streets.

Affordable living.

And a government that remembers who it actually works for.

So if you’re feeling anxious right now, take a breath.

Don’t despair.

We’re witnessing a political awakening — and once people find their voice, you can’t simply put the genie back in the bottle.

Change doesn’t happen overnight.

But it starts with people waking up, speaking up and refusing to accept that decline is inevitable.

So to my family, my friends and everyone reading this who feels the same:

Don’t worry.

Keep your head up.

Keep speaking.

Look after one another.

And never lose faith in your country.

Britain has been through far worse than this.

We will come through it.

And if we get this right, Britain can come out the other side stronger, safer and more united than it has been for a very long time.
