@IntMedatIowa@IM_Iowa@vancps So proud of all of our talented and dedicated CRQS at Iowa! Thank you for all you have done for our veterans and our residents!
In 2015, our residency program added a 4th @IM_Iowa to the leadership team, the Chief Resident for Quality & Safety, one of about a hundred nationwide funded by @vancps. Since then 8 physicians have held the CRQS role at Iowa, w/a ninth on deck.

Tomorrow, after years of advocacy by Americans working to improve our mental health system, 988 will become our new nationwide number for suicide prevention, mental health and substance use crises. Call or text 988 for a trained counselor who can provide support. #988Lifeline
As @IntMedatIowa Chief Residents, we have to wear a lot of hats. And leather coats and sunglasses.
Getting to #MatchDay2022 was a long road & now we're so proud to welcome this new class to @uiowa, @IowaMed & @uihealthcare. Congratulations, Interns!

No one is going to save public education other than public educators. Yesterday wasn’t just a call to action. It was an indictment on our profession. We don’t have anything to hide or ulterior motives at play, and we don’t lead our classrooms, schools, and districts with anger
So true! Makes it clear you expect patients to have questions-making it so much easier for people to speak up and ask. #communication#patientengagement
One of the most important things I've learned during third year is how empowering it is to ask patients "what questions do you have?" instead of "do you have any questions?"

We had just finished up at the #NoJudgmentZone table. I slung my backpack over my shoulder and began heading out.
"Ma'am. . .scuse me."
I turned in the direction of the voice. 2 young women stood side by side in the information line.
