Two serving police officers dead on the A66 after a wrong-way crash tied to organised crime and a car full of young men carrying 37 prior convictions between them, including assaults on police.

Yet Nigel Farage, Tommy Robinson, Zia Yusuf and Rupert Lowe, the professional outrage merchants who never miss a chance to rage about law and order, have gone almost completely quiet.

The same voices that explode over every other crime story suddenly find the mute button when the victims are police officers and the perpetrators do not fit the preferred narrative.

Selective silence is still a statement.

This is being briefed as if it's unions opposing donations caps and that's why Burnham has caved on his promises to cap political donations at £500k.

But we've literally JUST SEEN Burnham's donations disclosures, which are not even mentioned in this article.

They show Burnham getting a pittance from unions but substantial donations from Gary Lubner (£25k) and Lord Sainsbury (over £160k) to support his Labour leadership bid. Lubner and Sainsbury were two of the biggest previous funders of Labour Together and the Starmer projects, who both personally made donations in the millions to Labour Together and/or the Labour Party.

Burnham made his promise to cap donations at £500k to an activist in May this year. And then in June and July he gets bankrolled by the types of mega-donors who would be impacted by a donations cap, limiting their ability to influence politics. Then he drops the proposals that would impact on his personal donors. Deeply disappointing and really hard not to join these dots.

Andy Burnham has halted the Nationalisation of Thames Water.

As the law currently stands Water Companies need a Water License to be able to sell you Water.

Almost all of them have broken pollution laws, their licenses could be revoked today because of that.

Then they would be unable to charge you.

Then Nationalised for free.

Andy Burnham is looking to back away from putting Thames Water into Special Administration. This is a huge mistake.

This is handing Thames Water on the cheap to foreign vulture funds who know nothing about running a water utility company.

He also says it is too expensive to do anything else, so I want to know where those numbers are coming from. Thames Water’s own expert advisors say it would ultimately cost the Government nothing to put the utility into Special Administration.
