🚁 Meet Fire Helicopter Pilot Jonith Johnson Jr. 🚁
Pilot Johnson began his fire service career at a young age, joining the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) in 2005 at just 19 years old. Before that, he gained valuable experience as an LAFD Cadet, Volunteer Firefighter with the Riverside County Fire Department, and EMT for AMR-Riverside.
Now, with 20 years of dedicated service in the LAFD—including 9 years as a Fire Helicopter Pilot—he plays a vital role in aerial firefighting, search and rescue, and emergency response across Los Angeles.
His dream of becoming an LAFD Fire Helicopter Pilot led him to begin flight training in 2007 with fixed-wing aircraft. His ultimate goal was to fly for the LAFD Air Operations Section, a mission he proudly fulfills today—protecting lives and ensuring public safety from the skies.
