When will Dexes start to be more proactive in the fight against SCAM?

Not necessarily at the CEX level, but we can start to take active steps:

1) red big flag signals and pop-up windows where there are red flags on all fronts
2) Remove copycat tickers from the list
3) deal with a lot of tickers being copied from Solana to Base and back again
4) Ragpools that have done their dirty work and have been hanging around the exchanges for months.
5) putting blue bars on "verified projects".

And today you get this picture:
- Exchanges, platforms, terminals, @pumpdotfun are making money on everything, real projects, agents, products and also scams.
- A lot of liquidity goes into scams.
- 0 care about dex users
- 1 mistake of cryptans can empty their wallet in 0$.

We thought @haydenzadams @Uniswap @RaydiumProtocol @AerodromeFi @brian_armstrong @base @dexscreener you are leaders of industry and building decentralisation, web 3.0, before corporations fcked us, now we have snipers, scammers, fraudsters, bots, phishing instead.

Now you're just continuing @SBF_FTX way, not protecting the users and making money any way you can.

Maybe it's time to get a little more conscientious and not just chase profit?

murad's thesis on memecoins is directionally correct, but it misses the larger theme

missing the forest for the trees

it's not memes that people resonate with, it is symbols

memes are a subclass of symbols — that is, a meme might be a symbol (say dogecoin), but a symbol might not be a meme

and in general, a meme is limited to capital flows — but a symbol encompasses capital flows, recruiting, selling, and most importantly: direction

there is no shortage of examples here

ethereum is successful, largely due to vitalik — he inspires likeminded people to believe in eth; and if people believe in eth, they will buy it, they will join the ecosystem, and they will push it forward

solana is similar — toly is the pillar; the amount of people who've joined the ecosystem simply because toly is authentic is insane; not to mention obviously setting up the core team and the culture of engineering that's still around today even though he has 0 financial reason to keep going

I don't have to tell you about satoshi and bitcoin

but it's even true for ..more strange.. examples: cardano is only not dead because of charles (doesn't matter what you think of it, but you must acknowledge it), can make a similar argument with garlinghouse, and even tragedy cases like do kwon

same with exchanges: armstrong, cz, or even sbf (doesn't matter his morals, what matters is that he was the symbol)

you think of argentina, you think of milei

you think of apple, you think of jobs

you think of tesla, you don't even think of nikola tesla, you think of musk

the symbol does not have to be a person, it can be a meme, but for things requiring complex coordination like blockchains, cities, companies — it generally benefits more from a person

this is the most battle-tested Lindy effect of all — this has never not been true in history, from ancient civilizations to modern companies

it is also the hardest thing for a blockchain to produce — because it is a paradox

a blockchain must be decentralized, yet it must have a unifying vision to guide its direction, and that comes from a symbol

I would bet that any blockchain without a true symbol will die over time — as will anything else without a symbol

the final question in the crypto context is: can the symbol evolve enough to not require the human leader

america seems to be the main example I've seen of this, where the symbol is freedom and opportunity — such that the founding fathers are not needed anymore

religion is perhaps another one

but I don't see how it could be any other way
