I have a profile of @Aella_Girl in the latest print issue of @Playboy that Aella herself has said might be her “fav article anyone’s written” about her, “appropriately skeptical and nuanced.”
A new transmission for the others. Episode 2 of Invisible Front with Raven Connolly and @HeyPeterClarke is about to storm. We’re joined by
@pensandpoison to discuss what happens when books serve ideology instead of civilization.
Will literature survive the AI-generated future?
My literary journal @JokesReview has officially been around for 10 years!
I've had a blast publishing so many amazing writers, including @RiekkiRon, @BradyDale, @default_friend, @VraieSterzinger, @amy_grech, @ChrisDavidLo, @MDPurzycki, @MMcSw13, @fishclamor, @LChasek, @RoccoSweetheart, and many others.
The literary world feels totally stagnant right now while simultaneously being threatened by AI. But somehow my work with Jokes Review still feels as exciting and relevant as ever.
We just published our latest issue on the theme Urban Legends. We're about to publish a book by the great @VraieSterzinger. This summer we're publishing a 10-year anniversary issue with a release party already scheduled. And we're still doing semi-monthly IRL meetup events in Sacramento.
At this point, if literature does ever die, I'd still keep Jokes around just as a social club, since the IRL events have taken on a life of their own.
But if you want to help keep literature alive and support our work at Jokes Review, pick up a copy of one of our issues or books! Here are some of our best releases from over the years:
Read the new story "The legend of Mr Kirk’s shoes" by @simon_coll87859 in the latest issue of Jokes Review. Available online and in print! https://t.co/4m3DU1H1jo
“Hijinks ensue.”
Reading the great and powerful @VraieSterzinger in the morning is better than coffee.
From the latest issue of Jokes Review. Her new story about Zen (I think). Don’t miss it! https://t.co/iFLSfUkPsb
For decades, going back to the 1870s, Southern California was a mortician's paradise.
All of Southern California’s initial growth was spurred by the arrival of sick people seeking a "magic cure," a "climatic cure."
From our latest issue: https://t.co/R58Jtk23ak
The latest issue of Jokes Review is out now! The issue showcases a wild range of urban legends, quasi urban legends, & literary experiments taking poetic license with the urban legends theme.
Featured writers include @VraieSterzinger, @amy_grech, @MDPurzycki, & @RoccoSweetheart
Great to see @DainFitzgerald and others last night at this event!
I'm planning more meetups like this soon. If you're in NorCal and wanna join, hit me up and I'll add you to the contact list.
