This is so insanely corrupt, I can’t even believe it.
More than half the donors to Trump’s $400 million White House ballroom just won over $50 billion in new federal contracts in six months.
And here’s the part that should make your blood boil.
Sixteen of these 27 donors were facing federal enforcement actions, antitrust reviews, labor cases, securities charges. Many of those cases have been quietly dropped or scaled back since Trump took office. You write a check, your legal problems disappear. That’s not a coincidence.
The White House won’t even release the full donor list. They’re hiding it on purpose, because daylight is the one thing pay-to-play can’t survive. A federal judge already ruled ballroom construction has to stop until Congress authorizes it.
Government is supposed to serve the people, not auction itself off to the highest bidder. When access goes to whoever pays the most, working families always end up paying the price.
We either end the corruption, or the corruption will end us.

Love how Hunter Biden has been on lots of big podcasts recently without making much news. But the moment he does some tweets he becomes a folk hero.
Maybe we’re not turning into an auditory culture after all.
Or maybe Hunter is single handedly saving the power of the written word.
Not very impressed with those who present themselves as the guardians of journalistic integrity when they describe Bari Weiss as an opinion journalist as opposed to an entrepreneur & business executive.
I mean, do they care about factual rigour or not?
Stop fucking around @ScottPelley and go raise $50m from @reidhoffman and @moskov and compete with @60Minutes
Call the show TIMES UP and have a stop watch count down.
If you're not willing to take risk and get in the arena, then STFU!
trump’s biggest foreign policy miscalculations have come from underestimating other countries; whether friends (ukraine), competitors (china), or adversaries (iran).
@lurkskywalker3@Timodc Everyone is acting like Nick Bilton is a total nobody. I’ve followed his career for over a decade and everything he’s done has been uniquely memorable and culturally relevant. The fact he’s a creative type not a stuffed suit executive type is hugely to CBS’s advantage.
@lurkskywalker3@Timodc True and I’m all for integrity. But Nick Bilton is a fantastic choice for executive producer at CBS. The fact that Pelley acted like a child about it shows a lack of integrity plus a lack of humility and a lack of imagination about how the business can evolve.
It's hilarious to see how jealousy eats away at an almost 80 year old man who can have anything money can buy, but who knows that Obama's popularity is priceless.
This book is basically an episode of Jonny Quest or Ghost Busters. But bc it’s a novel, it was the mystique of being lofty and intellectual.
This speaks to the power of books.
Also, yes, it would be a cool episode of Jonny Quest.
anyway my proposal for a cool internet thing they should turn into a movie after the backrooms is @qntm's there is no antimemetics division, i think this would go extremely hard
