Some people are defined by their Hall of Fame career. Some by the family and friendships they built along the way. Some by the lasting mark they left on a university. Kenny Klein did all three-the Triple Crown of Louisville, and no one wore it better.
KK had a gift that can't be taught-he made every single person feel like they were his closest friend. The newest student manager, the most seasoned sportswriter, a young @spidadmitchell finding his footing. Forty years. Hundreds of lives shaped. One institution made immeasurably better because he walked through the door.
We will miss him sadly. The University of Louisville will continue to honor his legacy for as long as there's a Cardinal to cheer. And to his family, and to the many close friends who are understandably grieving right now-you are in our prayers. He was the soul of U of L athletics @GoCards and that never goes away.

Chair, University of Louisville
May we all live a life so full that we have at least ONE person say something as meaningful and lovely as the thousands of people who have had something to say about Kenny Klein. And if you aren’t, start today.
30 years ago today, the Charlotte Hornets selected Kobe Bryant with the 13th pick in the 1996 NBA Draft
Jerry West knew, before anyone else, that this kid was special 🐍
In 45 years of covering sports, in of covering college athletics, I've dealt with so many wonderful publicists with pro teams, national teams and primarily college sports programs.
Kenny Klein was the MJ, the TB12, the Messi.
You know this because I'm not the only one saying it.
Gonna miss Kenny Klein so much. Hard to really explain the impact he had on so many but was just so genuine, always had a smile, always wanted to help. I was young and breaking into the industry and he was so helpful to me - and I was one of so many that he would take the time.
I honestly can’t believe he’s gone. Prayers to his family, Rick Pitino, his other friends and everyone who got to know him.
There will never, ever be another Kenny Klein. Gonna miss you, man - and I’ll have a beer for you tomorrow.
Darius Acuff Jr. gave Coach Cal the all-time record for NBA Draft lottery picks 🤯
But, @CoachCalArk doesn't get Christmas gifts from his former players 😅
"If we go dinner, they make me pay."
"His gift comes on the 1st and the 15th of every month." - @boogiecousins@MichelleDBeadle | @ChandlerParsons | @TeamLou23
New at @YahooSports: John Calipari has had 41 of his players drafted in the first round since 2000, with those players making more than $3.6 billion in on-court earnings to date. @JohnWall and @franfraschilla help explain why Calipari remains basketball's kingmaker https://t.co/oykSxwalK0
Would like to thank so many people for their hopes and prayers regarding Kenny Klein. We all love him so much and our hearts are totally broken. We will know a final outcome in the coming days. It's really a difficult time but we will get through this together. His wife and children thank you so much for your concern.
The markets regulate how much head coaches get paid, and nobody is really losing any sleep over that. They are worth every dollar the market says they’re worth. So why wouldn’t we let the market regulate what college athletes can earn instead of placing a congressional cap on their income?
The super-wealthy people who are funding a large part of college athletes’ incomes apparently don’t care because they’re part of the so-called “problem.”What’s more, it seems the people saying it’s a problem for athletes to make so much money are mainly the leaders in college sports who make millions a year, some uniformed, well-intending politicians in D.C. 🙄, and a lot of less fortunate people who don’t want to see anyone in their 20’s making more money than they do.
