Elon highlighted just how far airbag technology has advanced at Tesla.

He suggested we might have come full circle and no longer need seatbelts with these systems in place.

"It's airbags everywhere," he said, explaining why the technology blows your mind with its sophistication.

Tesla even updates the software over the air to improve how the airbags deploy.

The system calculates whether you're an adult, how much you weigh, where you're sitting on the seat, and uses pressure distribution for precise classification.

"Not just the weight, but the pressure distribution on the seat. So we're measuring the pressure distribution."

It differentiates between a 5th percentile female and a 95th percentile male, or even a child, adjusting firing in real time based on position and orientation.

"A child could conceivably sit in the front seat.

Unbelted child sitting in a bad position, probably still fine."

The seatbelt is nice if worn, but the dynamic airbag system is that impressive and keeps getting better over time.
