I'm excited to be on the podcast with @BretFisher and @normalfaults tomorrow! Been a fan of the podcast and plowed through many episodes, highly recommended.
Join @normalfaults and me for our conversation with @JonEdvald of @garden_io. Here's a list of topics we plan to cover: #Kubernetes test environments, remote image building, making CI fast and efficient, test #automation. Thursday at 13:00 US ET (UTC-4). https://t.co/yENvkZ8Ps4
Phew. This has been a huge undertaking and I'm so proud of the team! Our Garden keeps growing, and we're making it so much more elegant and delightful.

✨🎺Announcing: Garden's latest update, called Bonsai. 🌳🧵
We're rolling out a suite of improvements in response to customer requests:
- An intuitive way to describe your pipelines 💬
- An interactive development console 👨💻
- A web-based dashboard 🕸

And *this* is why we get out of bed in the morning (besides Kisi meowing loudly for his breakfast ofc 🐱).
Thank you for the kind words @d0nutptr and a very well written post. I'd be hard-pressed to explain @garden_io better myself + I learned a bunch about #rustlang too 👏
I finally released my blog post on how I configured my Rust project to build quickly, deploy simply, and reliably test my code in environments outside of production.

It's easy to forget the actual dev in the "dev environment". I'd tried a bunch of things before discovering this little trick, which has done wonders for my back and neck.
I'll add that I sometimes use a small riser under my laptop to get a better angle.
#mydevenvironment
A straight-back hack from @JonEdvald, Garden CEO:
➡️ Put your laptop in front of the bottom inch of your desktop screen
‼️ When you can’t see the bottom of your desktop screen, you'll know you're slumping
👨💻 This will prompt you to sit up straight and improve your back-end
We’ve all been there. The code works perfectly in the local dev setup but as soon as it hits a staging or production instance, things start to go south. ⬇️

@scott_lowe@garden_io@PulumiCorp Importantly, you can do all that with the same tools and config from CI or any ol' laptop. So it's a complement to CI/CD and IaC, very portable, with more dev features.
It is currently strongest for Kubernetes dev+testing, but it's extensible with more plugins to come.

It's sometimes easy to forget that a tech company is not just the tech, but a company of people. We're ultimately a bunch of humans solving problems for other humans.
My colleague @worldofgeese took some time to share helpful advice on how we can be better at doing our best 🙏
Do you have feelings? Even sometimes when you would PREFER NOT TO? Well, then we have great news for you.

Hello world! Come see us at #Kubecon2022 at booth S24. We have:
✨ Smart people
✨ Very nice plants
✨ One tool for development, testing, and DevOps automation
Stop by! But in the meantime, a 🧵:
@worldofgeese@QuinnyPig@ultimatemonty Yes! If I detach from being a vendor (alternatively: get my head out my ass), it's sort of obvious, I also hate this as a buyer.
Don't mind me, just snacking on some humble pie.
@QuinnyPig@worldofgeese@ultimatemonty I agree on all points. The present state of our website and docs doesn't do our product and all the hard work involved justice, and that's ultimately on me.
This is sharp and concise feedback, and we'll make good use of it. I appreciate you getting into it, truly 🙏
@QuinnyPig@ultimatemonty That stings a bit, but you are not wrong. We're working on it.
I remember the days when I thought making a tech startup was all about the tech. O, the folly of youth.
