“Maybe for someone like Iga who has won so many slams … or maybe someone like Serena or Venus this achievement may seem small, but for someone who grew up in the Philippines. … for her this is everything.”
Alexandra Eala after her win ❤️
Just because someone has a private equity background doesn't mean they will operate the team like most private equity firms today -- cutting costs, maximizing profits.
Chisholm's deal with Sixth Street compromised the Celtics maximizing roster budget. https://t.co/e6Z53diJEk
Jaylen Brown is a 76er today, because the owner of the Boston Celtics doesn't really own the Boston Celtics. This is the latest depressing example of Private Equity controlling sports
Unfortunately, what's happening with the Celtics (and Red Sox) is a bigger issue than Jaylen Brown.
Celtics won a title 2 years ago led by 5 players who had been to All-Star games -- Then the team was sold (to Bill Chisholm/private equity), and suddenly 4 of those guys are gone.
Jaylen Brown deserved so much better...
We'll never know how many titles Brown & Tatum could have won together.
We won't see #7 and #0 retired to the Garden rafters next to each other one day.
Celtics ownership and front office should be ashamed to show their faces in public.
Joe Mazzulla is the first Celtics head coach to win the NBA Coach of the Year Award since Bill Fitch in 1979-80 and the fourth in franchise history, a group that also includes Red Auerbach (1964-65) and Tom Heinsohn (1972-73).
At 37, Mazzulla is the youngest NBA Coach of the Year since Phil Johnson in 1974-75.
For the first time ever, a Filipino American player will win an NBA Championship 🇵🇭 🏆
With the Knicks now in the NBA Finals and the Thunder vs. Spurs locked at 2-2, we’re sure that one of these Filipino Americans will win a ring:
🔶 Jordan Clarkson, Knicks
🔶 Jared McCain, Thunder
🔶 Dylan Harper, Spurs
Our hearts are broken. Brandon Clarke spent his last birthday with @ARISE2Read, sharing cupcakes with 2nd graders and reminding them that they matter. He wasn't just a Grizzly; he was a friend who believed in literacy and helping our kids. #BrandonClarke#ARISE2Read#Memphis
One of Brandon Clarke’s last charitable gestures? A donation to ARise2Read & a visit w/kids at Kipp Collegiate K-8 school. The local nonprofit has seen a surge in donations.
“It is both humbling and emotional to see people choose to honor him in this way.”

Rest in peace, Jason Collins. ❤️
In his retirement announcement in 2014, he wrote: “I’ll continue to encourage others to live an authentic life. My hope is that everyone achieves that day when you step forward and reveal your truth on your own terms. Your life will be exponentially better when you celebrate all that makes you unique. Additionally, I hope to inspire others to create a world of acceptance and inclusion; not only by their words, but by their actions.”
We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Jason Collins, the first openly gay NBA player, a founding advisory board member for the @BJK_Foundation, and our dear friend.
Jason changed lives through his courage, authenticity, and commitment to helping others feel seen.
His legacy extends far beyond basketball. He helped move sports and society forward with strength. We share our heartfelt condolences with his loved ones and all who were impacted by his life and leadership.
This one hurts. Jason Collins was a pioneer. He had courage like you've never seen. He was an incredible teammate. And having him in Brooklyn at the start of my coaching journey meant so much. Those who knew him were blessed to call him a friend. You are already missed my brother. Rest in power. 💔
I spent a lot of time with Brandon Clarke when I was with the Grizzlies. I wanted to share this video that I captured with yall
BC was always the first one to celebrate with his teammates. He was truly so happy to be on the court with his guys and share those moments with them
