I’m finally showing up here and looking for my people—readers and writers who love YA horror, sci-fi, Black speculative fiction, and stories where the world slips sideways.
Writer, lawyer, husband, lots of other things.
If this is your lane too, say hello and tell me what you’re reading.
the funniest thing about social anxiety is realizing nobody is thinking about you as much as you think they are 😭 everybody too busy thinking about themselves.
All the clocks in my home and office are set 20 mins ahead. ADHD time blindness is a mindset. Similar to jet lag, you can just simply refuse to have it
fun fact ADHD people can't use the produce drawer. anything behind a door stops existing. my whole fridge is arranged around the fact that i cannot be trusted with a closed compartment.
Unfortunately, sometimes you have to be a little mean to make people realize you're not someone to be played with. Not everyone respects kindness, but they will respect boundaries.
setting boundaries after being a people pleaser is such a weird experience because why do i feel guilty every time i choose myself 😭 like no, i’m not being mean. i’m just finally listening to myself too.
I used to think being reachable all the time was a sign that I cared. Now I'm learning that being present when I actually have the capacity to be present matters too.
Every neurodivergent person knows that if you have an appointment at 3:00 PM, the day is over at breakfast.
You cannot start anything. You cannot relax.
You just orbit the appointment like a haunted little moon.
It’s always funny to me when someone says a legal issue should be “pretty straightforward.”
In the history of the legal profession nothing has ever been straightforward.
Don’t you love when your brain is like “hang on I feel pretty good. Wasn’t there something I’m supposed to feel really bad about” and then it doesn’t stop searching til it remembers

Fellow ADHDers who ruin books by page 12 and movies ten minutes in:
What actually stumped you?
I want a plot so twisty even our brains won’t see it coming.
