Drake Maye says he drinks alcohol fewer than 5 times a year, even though teammates and friends have flamed him and told him he was missing out, says he sees drinking as voluntarily making goals harder to reach

“It started from my dad, really. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him take a sip of alcohol. My brother Luke didn’t drink growing up. My brother Bo doesn’t drink. It’s something where I just followed people that I really admired. That’s my dad, my oldest brother Luke.”

“I’ll get on the beach and have a piña colada, but I’m not one to drink. I probably drink less than five times a year, 10 times a year. I’ve been used to people I admire putting away something that I feel like can prohibit you from reaching your goals.”

“It’s always hard for me because people joke about, ‘Man, you’re not one of the boys, having a drink. You’re missing out on a great time.’ But it’s become my ritual. Unless I’m on the beach and maybe get a piña colada, it’s not really something I enjoy.”

“Even in college, I didn’t really have that itch to get out there and enjoy those things. Sure, I may have missed some of those nights with teammates or some college buddies, but at the end of the day, I don’t think it was worth it for me.”

I don't want the government to give me money to be a stay at home mom. I want them to take less of the money my husband earns for us.

For physical training has limited benefit, but godliness is beneficial in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. - 1 Timothy 4:8.

Go workout — it’s good for your body and mind. But also make sure you’re “working out” in godliness. I see a lot online about “optimization,” if you went to the gym but didn’t read your Bible and pray today you’re grossly imbalanced and unoptimized.

.@ShawnRyan762 asked me point-blank: "Why did Jesus have to die on the cross?"

I am humbled and honored that I was put in a position to answer this question for him. This story is one of the best illustrations of the Gospel that I've ever heard.

Important announcement: I am upping my offer, $10 million dollars for a head-to-head basketball game between the defending WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces and a boy's high school state title team of my choice. If the Aces beat my team, I will give them $10 million.

Isn’t it weird how unsubsidized consumer goods like TVs, appliances, clothes, all get cheaper and cheaper…while anything government puts its hands on, healthcare, housing, food, tuition, cars, utilities…just gets more and more unaffordable?

Oh well. Probably nothing.

Most preachers should find another job. And James Talarico is exactly why. 🚨

When pulpits are weak, people are vulnerable. And that's when guys like Talarico walk in — kind, polished, easy to listen to — and tell you God is non-binary and Mary had to give God permission to put Jesus in 'him.'

That's not a new interpretation. That's heresy. With a smile.

And here's the root problem: most people think the primary message of the Bible is to love each other. It's not.

It opens with 'In the beginning, GOD.' The whole thesis is know who this God is. Get that right first — and then you'll actually know how to love people.
Get it backwards and you'll follow anyone who sounds nice.

Find a church that goes through books of the Bible. It might save you from a wolf you'd never see coming
