@Protestia If I were at a church and my pastor's wife did crap like this or did a "Hot take" telling us that evangelism took second place to starting a food pantry..... I would leave faster than that arugula that she is clipping out of the church food pantry.
@TemsonTrace@WallStreetApes Why would I pay someone else to raise my kids? That's stupid. I have a wife who stays home while I work and provide. Kind of a great system.
@michaeljknowles
Here are a few places.
Galatians 2:15-16 15 We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners; 16 yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.
Ephesians 2:4-10 4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
@LostMyHats Just looked this up, but this is the old "XXXChurch" ministry that got rebranded. "Wally The Wiener" was one of their mascots. I think the founder went off to promote Christians smoking pot.
Took this screenshot from Facebook of a person I know who is a trucker. He got 50k worth of beef and lamb stolen out of his truck on Sunday. The economy is so bad and meat prices are so high that people are stealing it. There's a good possibility that it will be sold on the black market. I know during rationing during WW2 this was common. Figured this would be of interest to you
One thing you forgot to mention is the "poor little country" has the full support of the United States and access to our weapons and our military. We send them billions of dollars each year. Its like a little kid saying "I built a house" when his dad is right behind him doing the work. Not really a great comparison... but ok.
@LostMyHats Didn't the petro-dollar collapse already when the Saudi Arabia said they'd take payment in whatever currency someone would want to pay in? Its honestly why I believe gold and silver are going crazy right now because people can smell the death of the fiat dollar
@shane_VANS@HomesteadAmeric@sola_chad One of us is quoting scripture, while the other just typed "That's not true!".... I will stick with scripture. Have a good day pal.
The problem you have is that if you kept the entire Torah you would be committing blasphemy against the sacrifice of Christ. There are places in the Old Covenant, which would be sinful for Christians to follow.
For example, animal sacrifices for sin would be sinful for a Christian to practice because Christ, the better Sacrifice has come.
Hebrews 10:1-4 For since the law has but a shadow of the good things to come instead of the true form of these realities, it can never, by the same sacrifices that are continually offered every year, make perfect those who draw near. 2 Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, since the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have any consciousness of sins? 3 But in these sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. 4 For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
The Old Testament Law was a shadow of what we have in the New Covenant....
As for Dietary laws They are never leveled against Gentiles to follow.
Even if you take Acts 15, (Which later gets amended in 1 Corinthians to make meat sacrificed to Idols a conscience issue) Gentiles are never commanded or instructed into adhering to Levitical dietary codes.
Acts 15:23-29 23 with the following letter: “The brothers, both the apostles and the elders, to the brothers who are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia, greetings. 24 Since we have heard that some persons have gone out from us and troubled you[d] with words, unsettling your minds, although we gave them no instructions, 25 it has seemed good to us, having come to one accord, to choose men and send them to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, 26 men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 27 We have therefore sent Judas and Silas, who themselves will tell you the same things by word of mouth. 28 For it has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay on you no greater burden than these requirements: 29 that you abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from what has been strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell.”
Also... You would think if the consumption of things like Pork was forbidden by Christians, Paul would have mentioned that in letters like 1 Corinthians where he rebukes a guy for having sex with his step-mom.
