Primary school teacher (ECT 2) and podcast host. Helping my students become a little more happier, inspired and confident than they were the day before.
@teachwellall From my student's previous teacher the year before: "Gosh, their (insert knock on presentation/writing/progress) was not like this for me last year"
What does it take to be a leader in schools - not only for the staff, but for the students as well? This is one of the topics discussed in this brilliant and uplifting conversation I had with @pennywpennyw. Enjoy! #edutwitter#podcast#primaryteacher https://t.co/e58mrOcCq2
Why is wellbeing important in schools? What can we do in schools to improve a teacher's wellbeing? This is the topic we discuss in this wonderful conversation with @teachwellall. I hope you enjoy! #edutwitter#podcast#teaching https://t.co/HTI3wNxEVN
@MR_AECT @MrTs_NQTs Did you create the next steps to tackle it yourself? Only that 'praise students by showing their work to the class' step seems off. Some children would absolutely despise public praise and wouldn't want their work shared. I probably wouldn't use this as the main means of praise.
Day 17 of #WellbeingBooks4Advent is the final CPD choice for the month.

We’re just over halfway through term one.
Bugs going round. Nights drawing in.
Look after yourself and cut yourself some slack. Still got a way to go before half-term so prioritise tasks.
You can’t always do it all and you help nobody by burning out.

@MrTs_NQTs Every morning I've been doing a combination of TTRS on ipads (though we only have about 8 ipads)!, writing their date and l.o ready for the first lesson, and then reading. It all feels a bit dry though. Does anyone have any more varied ideas? (Y4) Thank you!
It was a real pleasure to talk to @Jon_TTM about the importance of wellbeing. This is the blog that Jon refers to in our conversation. https://t.co/JWGZqbhuus

The silent treatment is so traumatic for a child because it’s not only a form of emotional neglect, it’s a targeted message: when you upset me, you no longer exist. Done over and over, this creates a deep abandonment wound.
