Bill Belichick breaks down leadership into two things - and it's simpler than you think.
"Leadership to me is 2 things: doing your job and putting the team first."
Let me explain.
"If you can't do your job, then you don't have any leadership."
"And if you do your job for selfish reasons and don't care about the team, then the team doesn't really embrace you."
It means focusing on your action and what you consistently do. People want leaders that are selfless, consistent, and people of character.
"If you do your job and you're a good teammate, then you have good leadership - regardless of whether you're vocal, not vocal, whatever your leadership style is."
"There's a lot of different leadership styles. But if you can do your job, everybody will respect you. And if you put the team first, everybody will respect you."
Leadership isn't a title - it's your behaviors.
The behaviors according to Belichick: Do your job. Put the team first.
Earn respect through actions.

"I love being able to play this game for a living. It's one of the greatest joys of my life, but does it fill the deepest wants and desires of my heart? Absolutely not."

Must watch stuff.
We spend so much of life chasing the world—status, stuff, success. But none of it truly satisfies. Real transformation begins when we stop running and surrender to something greater than ourselves. That’s where purpose begins.

This morning @GFCFlorida launched a new series called “You’re Not Crazy”.
We can feel alone even when surrounded by many people. Are we chasing a lifestyle that is wrecking our mental health and stealing our joy?
How do we change that? Choose real relationships over casual friendships.
We have to invite people to look into our lives and fellowship with us.
The Bible speaks to us many times about relating to “one another”. We can’t live this life alone. God calls us to be in community with others while Satan tries to tear down our relationships with family and community.
Don’t fall into that trap.
Who fights for you in the rooms you are not in ?
Who sticks up for you when no one else has the courage to do it ?
Who’s sitting at your table when no one else wants to sit there ?
Who prays for you because they see you like their own family ?
Those are YOUR PEOPLE !!!
Christians, if it has not been part of your normal practice in the past, take time today to commit to praying regularly for our next President BEFORE the emotions of this week engulf the nation.
No matter the outcome God’s sovereignty reigns. No matter who wins we are commanded to pray for those in positions of authority and leadership.
Our duty in this regard is not dependent upon our support for Trump or Harris. It is an act of obedience to the God we serve.
There is no shortcut, no secret hack, no easy path.
You get better by doing the work, by showing up consistently, by committing to the process.
Every single day.

Marco van Basten- Coaching behaviours that value limiting unpredictability, prioritise structure over function are discussed in our paper that digs in to the copy-paste culture in coaching and education that is heading towards a methodological imperialism
