Fast payment systems (FPS) can accelerate the adoption of digital finance, particularly in lower-income economies. New research shows that this is stronger when central banks play an active role in FPS. #Payments#Fintech#DigitalFinance https://t.co/d85j9gbBoh

#Inflation in Latin America & the Caribbean is receding thanks to #CentralBanks' timely action, but risks persist. Central banks cannot let their guard down just yet, says Alexandre Tombini at the Consejo Monetario Centroamericano (available in Spanish) https://t.co/nSfswhGX37
When banks compete, firms get cheaper loans. But banks’ #DefaultRisk stays the same. In more competitive markets, banks earn less interest income relative to their credit risk. Does competition make banks more fragile? #FinancialStability
