The ICC is a vital part of the structure of international human rights law. And we recognize it has been misused by those seeking to undermine Israel. Sanctions against the ICC for the latter should be directed at those abuses and not so broad as to damage the ICC more pervasively, as today’s proposed legislation would have. For this reason, we welcome @SenSchumer’s efforts to have both parties return to negotiations on targeted measures and sanctions, that garner bipartisan support, aimed at holding the ICC to account, ending unfair treatment of Israel, and strengthening the ICC’s legitimate role in the structure of international law.
I am thrilled to welcome @RepRaskin and Rabbi Angela Buchdahl to a timely conversation presented by @therac. People are wrestling with how to protect justice and democracy, and our event will share actions you can take - plus firsthand wisdom and advice. https://t.co/NisKyYUgsN
Looking for steps you and your congregation can take right now to affirm and support members of the LGBTQ+ community? Check out these resources from our Pride Shabbat page https://t.co/DwiVVVNukS
Thousands of people’s lives have been upended today by the decisions already made and implemented by the new administration. So we’re not going to debate about what Musk, elected by no one, meant by his salute at the inaugural gala. But someone of his reported intelligence should know better than to make a gesture that evokes fascist leader-worship and the worst horrors of the 20th century. https://t.co/FSt4Nl2T3M
Today’s flurry of statements and announced executive orders attacking immigrants, LGBTQ+ people, climate protections, and more are hurtful and harmful. They also make clear the communities and policies that are at heightened risk under the new administration. (1/2)
It was wonderful to be with @SenatorDurbin, @ChrisCoons, @SenatorBaldwin, @RepSlotkin, and many other friends at this morning’s Democratic Senate Outreach and Steering Committee holiday reception! We look forward to working together in the 119th Congress.
The new White House strategy to counter islamophobia is a vital recognition from the highest level of government of the importance of combating this virulent form of hate. We look forward to reviewing the strategy in detail and working with our partners in the Muslim and civil rights community to address anti-Muslim hate. https://t.co/8NpaQ3Fbiz
Yesterday, we were proud to join @KeshetGLBTJews, @NCJW, and many faith and secular partners as the Supreme Court heard oral arguments in U.S. v. Skrmetti. Gender-affirming care is lifesaving. We will continue to support bodily autonomy & full equality for all transgender youth.
A few weeks ago I joined @JohnnieM for a meeting with Omer's parents among other families of the hostages. We pledged to them then, and pledge to them now - we will do everything we can to #BringThemHomeNow https://t.co/iJNseDoV2k
It’s a new day in DC & a lot is going to change (& fast) but one thing that won’t change is that the ❤️ of all the American people remain w/all those whose family members are still held hostage in Gaza, including Americans
My first meeting in D.C. since the election was w/them
Omer Neutra’s murder, like all those murdered on Oct 7, is devastating. For 14 months, his parents have shared Omer with the world in an effort to bring him home. Now, we mourn with them and thank all, including President-elect Trump, who are unequivocally calling to release the hostages; and we remain committed to the welfare of innocent Palestinian civilians caught in the violence.
Grateful to @POTUS for his tireless efforts toward peace, even as our hope is tempered by Hezbollah’s past violations of agreements. We’ll keep praying & working for a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel to free the hostages & get vital humanitarian aid to Gaza civilians.
We welcome the Lebanon ceasefire announced by Israel after over a year of deadly Hezbollah rocket attacks. While this is not a peace agreement, we share President Biden’s hope for progress toward lasting peace. Our prayers remain with all impacted. https://t.co/DeS291orDj
Add your name to this open letter to President Trump, spotlighting key policy issues of concern and praying that in his next term, he will advance the principles of justice that have been sources of strength for our nation.

We mourn the murder of Rabbi Zvi Kogan Z”l a Chabad emissary in the UAE. R. Soleveichik in his Kol Dodi Dofek writes that “if boiling water is poured over a Morrocan Jew the Jew in Paris or London must scream.” We scream out at this tragic loss. We are one people!

Read @jonahpesner's letter to @SpeakerJohnson opposing his new policy that targets transgender people by restricting Capitol Hill restroom use. We urge the Speaker to reverse this policy and instead use his office to spotlight the holiness in all people. https://t.co/E71Qolpv65
Enough is enough! Rabbi Jonah Pesner tells Prime Minister Netanyahu that it’s time to prioritize humanity, morality, and justice over political survival. As Netanyahu's own now-fired Minister of Defense said "There is and will not be any atonement for abandoning the captives."
We are deeply concerned about the qualifications of some members of the slate of Cabinet nominees announced by President-elect Trump. They include individuals who have aligned themselves with White Christian Nationalists. Individuals who have been credibly accused of sexual assault. Individuals who have trafficked in antisemitic conspiracies. Individuals who have denied the existence of Palestinians. Individuals who by all objective accounts are unqualified for the positions to which they have been nominated.
While presidents may nominate the cabinet members they choose, senators have sworn an oath to the constitution and have a vital responsibility to fulfill their role of providing advice and consent. Senators must give serious consideration to these nominees and whether they are qualified and fit to serve. If not, senators should vote against their confirmation, and oppose any attempt to subvert the confirmation process, for the good of the nation they have sworn to protect.
Today, we sent a letter urging Congress to oppose H.R. 9495, which would grant the Treasury Secretary unilateral authority to strip organizations of their nonprofit status. Congress must protect nonprofits by voting no on this dangerous bill.
