NEW @CookPolitical: 2026 mid-decade redistricting has yielded a House map that's more Republican and less elastic. We're out w/ our new PVI scores, and Dems now need to win 57 of 77 seats in the R+5 to D+5 range (74%) to win a House majority. https://t.co/DEZQLimSBL
“Dr. Fauci’s diary reads like a black comedy of manners in which a 79-year-old social-climbing scientist becomes the face of the government’s response to a pandemic and then the toast of the town — the toast of this town. As the death toll rises, so too does the doctor’s status and self-regard. He falls in with a fast crowd and becomes consumed by his own image”

It’s remarkable that the Democratic elite are more fractured than the Republican elite at a time when the GOP president’s ratings have been in the toilet for most of his term, the nation’s in another unpopular war and most Americans are pessimistic about the future.
@BradOnMessage I’d argue that a) you’re basically right. But also it doesn’t make sense for presidents or donors to invest in the national party committee in the modern era. The only reason for a president to direct donors there is to avoid a Biden fate: where his SuperPACs turned and choked $.
Many things can be true:
* Martin haters waited to pounce.
* He totally f-ed up autopsy.
* He’s too insular.
* No reason for donors to give to DNC, esp in a midterm. Party Coms outdated. Tough gig.
* Still $ is wow weak.
* d’s hate DNC (h/t Bern)
* state coord is best use of DNC
The Democratic Party of Georgia just announced it will have 30 field offices open by early August along with 60 full-time field organizers and more than 100 coordinated campaign staffers — the biggest operation the party has ever had at this stage. #gapol https://t.co/b9AIH90U5c
“I mean, consultants shouldn’t have main character energy. We have lost the plot when consultants are doing PR tours for themselves, for their own redemption, and that is what this felt like.”

A few years back, the Nationals had to trade Juan Soto mid-season because they weren’t going to re-sign him.
They dealt him to the Padres. Nats got back CJ Abrams and James Wood, among others.
Here’s how that looks now
This is a steal for a team scoring a ton of runs and in bad need of pitching help in short and long terms. A 24-year-old who has been stellar at every level — and a local guy to boot. Great get, Nats!

“I’m not drinking my own bullcrap,” Haley Stevens told me. “I’m just working my ass off. That’s all you can do.”
That’s from her 2022 primary.

In the old days, American public officials believed in courts passing judgment on what constitutes criminal behavior. Here the mayor of NY says Netanyahu is a criminal and *then* calls for a trial.
When Trump does this, the left goes nuts.
Scoop: WI Dem Gov candidate David Crowley once set up an X burner account called 'Dirt McGirk' that made crude references about women and LGBTQ.
He says he shared account & didn't write the controversial messages.
