Since this scene was a mix of 2D and 3D animation, it was extremely complex and challenging to make work. I had to make sure all the action timing was prepared in advance. Many people worked incredibly hard to make this possible
Now I'm hearing this might be AI generated (or edited)? Which is odd, cuz I'm not picking up any particularly tell-tale signs. But if so it's insane they would do that to a Nomura illustration... Guess I'm also not all that surprised at the same time considering the industry atm
If I'm being honest, this is what I'm looking forward to playing most for the rest of the year. One of those games that looks like magic. Like... How does a game even look like this? How tf did y'all do that??
@GingerBajanScot Not to mention some more info on Ueda's new game gen ATLAS (which I really didn't expect to hear about again any time soon), a new Virtua Fighter that looks incredible and fuckin' TIFA in Street Fighter 6 lol. A wild ass Summer Game Fest this year.
To be real, if console prices keep rising the way they are (& they will thanks to gen AI hiking up RAM and SSD prices), I'm probly done with the hobby once we hit PS6/Helix gen.
I've gotten almost everything I've ever wanted out of games anyway. Rest is just gravy atp.
💯 The whole lullaby is so integral to Alexia, they at least have to keep that and hopefully integrate it into her boss themes like the og. Would be such a wasted opportunity to just drop it altogether.
Resident Evil: Veronica’s soundtrack is a huge part of its identity. I really hope Capcom doesn’t continue its recent trend of replacing iconic music with “realistic” ambient noise. The series loses a lot of its soul when that happens.
We lost something when gaming shifted away from robots, ninjas, panther women and space station lasers owned by rich Kung Fu masters obsessed with their dead sisters, tbh.
I guess structure-wise, it's looking more like The Bouncer (albeit with some exploration), than Shenmue. Well... The Bouncer without the robots, panther woman and space station lasers.
Bring back The Bouncer, man. Where Seiichi Ishii at? He ain't doin' nothin'. Get him on that.
Crossroads looks like it's doing what Yu Suzuki originally planned for Shenmue; a Virtua Fighter RPG. Finally happened. Just took 26 years lol. Hopefully doesn't leave us on a never-ending cliffhanger like Shenmue ultimately did.
@xtrillvalentine Nah, I'm with you on that. Especially loved how they expanded on how Jill was affected by the mansion incident. Her nightmares. And actually seeing the obsession with exposing Umbrella in her apartment. Loved all those little touches. Really made her and Carlos feel like real ppl
