With aging, power declines faster than strength and is more closely associated with physical function and adverse outcomes.
This meta-analysis found resistance training with fast velocities (or “power training”) may further enhance muscle power and physical function in older adults compared with resistance training using controlled lifting speeds.

One key aspect I'd like to highlight is the dose-response relationship. When we think about an intervention like 3x1h of strength training or HIIT, it's fascinating to consider that it manipulates only around 2-3% of a participant's waking time. What about the remaining 97%? 🤔
