Thought experiment:
1) The idea that reality is a sim is nothing new
2) Odds of us being "base" reality are vanishingly small
3) If you had the ability to create a such a sim would you not make it so that you could "observe" everything in it
@MasterMaliq If you lived in a country with sharia law and found out your new neighbour was a homosexual, Danish cartoonist that drew caricatures of the Prophet would you:-
1) protect him from being put to death?
2) support the state in his execution?
@Zzommbiedd@writeadambloom@cessonmute In my experience when a man mentions mental health issues to a woman they frequently weaponises it against him. So men become dismissive and defensive of woman.
When I go to men with issues, they help, without making it about themselves or holding it against me.
@plainionist LLM's cannot solve novel problems.
If we had an AI that had perception + a world model + Lang model + rational "executive functions" are cognitively flexible, and self directing, then possibly.
@GaryMarcus@simonw@Nima292 https://t.co/Y6mzYVAe9s
only seems to address sensory and cognitive processes. I think conative processing, conceptualisation, goal setting, emotive feedback and the ability to self-actualise would be necessary for "true" AGI.
@Afinetheorem@kareem_carr Could share the proof of this fact? A lot of code is generated by AI that does not mean that it is actually accepted. The vast majority of "AI written code" I see is still modified and corrected by a human before it is accepted.
@MeghanBobrowsky This is not a new pitch at all, @nwaisb was using the same pitch pre LLM Era. Whats more interesting is the sudden PR pivot. ( institutional investment running a little dry?)
@MarleyMiles69@Kekius_Sage - thoughts travel at ~432 km/h
- a light year is ~9.4^15
- the measurable universe is ~93 bill light years
so it would take approximately 237,342,457,390,084,580 years to cross the universe at the speed of though.
@Kekius_Sage 100%
C is not the speed of light it is, it is the universal maximum velocity when something with zero mass is accelerated. Photons are massless which is why the travel at C. To accelerate something with mass to C would require virtually infinite energy.
