@scottjshapiro You simply sell someone the right to sell you stock in the future at a low price. This allows you to take an immediate cash and to provide an entry way back into the market in the future.
@NinaStrohminger I believe that the Dunning Kruger effect is limited to the hypothesis that people know more than they think they know. It is my Recollection that the original paper It’s fairly explicit in stipulating that the authors do not show that people think that they know more than others.
