@ddorman@modal The default ground state for subway ads are zit doctors and PSAs. Whenever subway ads are dominated by flashy private sector companies its a pretty good signal the VCs are spewing capital to pump their wares.
@KeithPowersNYC@Sen_Gounardes Wish you luck. Somehow the strongest lobby in NY State is composed of crap dangerous drivers who demand the right to terrorize city streets.
@nullbytes00 SuperCmd does a surprisingly nice job cloning Raycast and adding a few cool features. The issue as I'm sure you know is that you are an AI weekend away from being cloned yourself. Not sure what the sustainable way out of this trap is.
@nullbytes00 Intrigued by this as a longtime Launcher->Alfred->Raycast guy. Love the Excalidraw integration. Curious what the product and company roadmap is.
@paulnovosad I've found the proportion of ultra-shallow people on Wall Street is roughly similar to that found anywhere else including academia where the objective may not be "getting rich" but relative status games, personal cult building, etc...
@johnarnold Interesting idea but the worker displaced via AI will see income go to zero so any personal tax benefits are meaningless. Those who survive will see lower taxes and the benefits of AI productivity. Marginal cases where taxes would make human employees more efficient seem small.
@NickyMulligans@stoolpresidente Chicago isn’t NYC. Im sure you are a smart nice guy but a whole lot of politics would work better in this country if local politics stayed local instead of being a national/global memesport by people with zero skin in the game.
@ByrneHobart There comes a point in a Paradox game where one realizes that if they are spending 15 hours optimizing a pseudo-realistic economic system, there are plenty of actual economic systems in the real world that will pay you for the same thing
@NYHammond Most wealthy New Yorkers would vote to increase their own taxes if they had any confidence it would actually lead to better public services instead of going down a black hole
@tobinjstone Will never understand the universal online impulse for everyone to cosplay as if they live in or vote in NYC local politics. Our pothole politics are not a matter for global involvement.
