We are incredibly grateful for the volunteers from around the world who have chosen to spend their time with our students, sharing not only their knowledge but also their care, encouragement, and unique perspectives.
Through health education, language learning, and hands-on school activities, Megan and YoYo have helped create meaningful opportunities for students to learn, grow, and connect.
To Megan, YoYo, and all those who choose to walk alongside our students, thank you.

One of the most powerful ways children learn is through curiosity.
This weekend, students at G.S. Dihiro participated in hands-on sessions led by volunteers Miri Dressler and Hadass Katz, exploring #birdwatching, #environmentalconservation, bird nest identification, and nature-inspired drawing.
By observing the world around them, students not only learned about local #ecosystems but also discovered how creativity, science, and #environmentalresponsibility are deeply connected.
Africa’s future is being shaped every day in classrooms, creative spaces, and communities where young people are given the opportunity to learn, express themselves, and grow.
Today, we celebrate the talent, resilience, and potential of the next generation.

Supporting children.
Empowering young mothers.
Strengthening communities.
At The Jonathan Foundation, we believe lasting impact begins when people are given the care, stability, and opportunity to build a better future.
Clear vision is essential to learning.
Through the 2026 School Eye Health Screening Program, @RIIOSchool (Rwanda International Institute of Ophthalmology) visited GS Dihiro to provide eye screenings and help ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed in the classroom.

On Friday, students, educators, and community members in Gashora came together to commemorate the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi through a walk of remembrance, survivor testimonies, and moments of reflection.
At The Jonathan Foundation, we believe education includes preserving memory and helping young people understand the lessons of history. By remembering, we honor those who were lost and reaffirm our shared commitment to building a future rooted in dignity, unity, and hope.
Education is not only about acquiring knowledge. It is also about learning how to think, question, and communicate with confidence.
This week, students from G.S. Dihiro and Rwanda Institute for Conservation Agriculture (@RICA_Rwanda) came together for a debate that challenged them to articulate ideas, defend positions, and engage thoughtfully with one another.
Opportunities like these help students develop skills that extend far beyond the classroom. Critical thinking, public speaking, and respectful dialogue are essential foundations for leadership and lifelong learning.
At The Jonathan Foundation, we believe that meaningful education creates environments where students are encouraged to explore ideas, build confidence, and prepare for the challenges of the future.
We are grateful to the students, teachers, and partners who made this exchange possible and to RICA for joining in this valuable experience.
We had the honor of welcoming a delegation from the Embassy of Israel in Rwanda led by @ron_margalit_, Deputy Head of Mission at Embassy of Israel
Our founder Ody, shared conversations about education, opportunity, and building systems where young people can reach their full potential.
As Ron Margalit said during the visit:
“Give the right students the right environment, and they will change the future”

While launching the #FresheriKuIshuri campaign at GS Dihiro in @BugeseraDistr, Minister of State @ClaudetteIrere emphasized that cleanliness is essential for effective learning and students’ wellbeing.
She highlighted the importance of maintaining clean learning environments so that students can study in dignified, healthy, and distraction-free spaces, while also preserving schools for future generations.
Minister also noted that cleanliness goes beyond classrooms and includes personal hygiene such as clean hair, shoes, uniforms, and inner garments; habits that protect students from disease, promote self-respect, and consideration for others.
