Message to Keir: Do not underestimate the depth of anger people will feel about this disgusting decision. If you think it strengthens you I tell you it will simply hasten your demise. You could have shown magnanimous leadership but instead it’s cowardice. https://t.co/02Y8COpddM
Councillors Roberts and Morris have arranged for new grit bins to be installed:
🧂 Corner of Garmoyle & Kenmare Roads
🧂 Corner of Nithsdale & Weardale Roads
They are all fully stocked and ready for any further cold weather this winter.
The council's street cleaning staff have been out this morning strimming and cleansing the gutters in streets around Smithdown. Claremont Road is pictured. 🧹🪣🧽
Whatever people’s views about the concessions, surely everyone can see the process here is ALL wrong?
Third Reading in eight days?
A timetable like that diminishes the role of MPs in getting this legislation right, shuts out disabled people and puts too many at risk.
Jon & James have been out today across Smithdown ward noting dumping and overfull bins as students leave the area. We've moved some items ourselves & noted others to report to council staff for clearing. We'll be out regularly over the next weeks proactively tackling problems!
Not the right time. Not the right bill. Emotional coercion impossible to trace and high-quality social/palliative care not available to the poorest in our society.
Historic day, and I don’t think for the good.

I have spoken at CLP meetings re my concerns around assisted dying and how it will impact people with Downs Syndrome.
The bill is deeply flawed and has not been scrutinised effectively, MPs should vote against it. A law of such magnitude should not be a private members bill.
Liverpool is pioneering a new Free School Meal auto-enrolment initiative so that every eligible child receives a healthy meal each school day.

This is a message to the fly-tippers blighting our towns and villages:
For too long, your actions have gone unpunished. That ends now.
We'll use drones and new tech to identify your vehicle. Then we'll crush it.
These street bins on Lawrence & Wellington Roads were looking a bit tired and in need of a refresh, so Cllrs Jon Morris & James Roberts arranged for them to be replaced with new ones. 🚮🗑
If you see any broken street bins that need restoring or replacing, please do let us know!
💷 Tourism taxes have been successful across Europe and have already been introduced close to home, you only have to look up north to Scotland
🏙️ This would generate up to £11m per year and hugely enhance the visitor experience in Liverpool
Delighted to announce that our @LiverpoolLabour council will be investing in youth workers.
This will enable us to take proactive action to support our young people. Thanks to additional funding from Public Health, we are now able to build back services our residents need most!
👨👩👧 We will be investing at least £500k into our youth services
📈 This will build back a youth worker team that was decimated under successive Tory governments
🏘️ This boost will play a vital role in how we combat the dangers of Ketamine in our communities
