I made Lines of Battle because I wanted something between a turn-based strategy game and an RTS

Regular turns have two problems. The more players you add, the longer everybody has to sit around waiting. And one army just standing still while the other one moves doesn’t feel like a real battle at all

RTS games fix that by making everything happen at once, but then they reward APM and reflexes just as much as actual tactics

In LoB, everyone gives their orders at the same time, and then they all play out together. Rounds don’t get longer with more players, and winning is more about reading what your opponent is going to do than having faster hands
