@Leosuky Absolutely agree. It’s been a few seasons now with the same story. If we’re trying to win titles again we need to go a different direction.
Different captain and heavily reduced minutes at CB should be the minimum if/when he comes back.
@RaffaRants My exact point! We all want Chelsea to get back to our best. That includes Reece James. But injuries shorten careers, if doing the exact same thing is getting him hurt then something needs to change. He can still be a big part of the club with heavily reduced mins
@breezy_345 I agree with absolutely everything you said. I love Reece as much as the next person. But no player is bigger than the club. Him going down has been a massive loss to us the last few seasons, this year we can stay strong without him. Hopefully the club sees it too.
@tremcol48 I’ve been saying about Reece for a little while now. Injuries have cooked him he’s not got the same engine as before. Still a solid player but he isn’t gonna carry us like Cole, Pedro and Rogers. I don’t think we drop him yet but he needs support
@Mayour05@CFCcipher Even if we take Chelsea out of the equation, Karius literally cost Liverpool a UCL against Real Madrid. A bad GK literally costs you games and the longer you keep them around, the less confident your defenders will be than if you have a solid/ elite GK.
@TheBlueDodger I actually quite like Gittens, but I do agree with your sentiment. If this is our board getting more aggressive and trying to build a win now team around Palmer then I’m all for it. My only question is if Enzo goes, are we going to look for a similar profile CM or not?
@MaxisCrypt@gbengres99@FabrizioRomano@TeleFootball A top class GKs career can go way past a top class outfielders career on average. Look at Buffon and Van Der Sar. Outfielders are usually past their prime at the same age. Time will tell with Emi but for £7.5M if we get even a shred of reliability, it’s a good deal.
3) if we play this correctly, Dibu’s experience is gonna be huge for getting Penders ready to be our main GK if all goes to plan.
4) This now surely gets us right back in the mix for top 4. If everyone stays healthy we could win something over the next couple seasons. #CFC
My thoughts on Dibu signing:
1) Absolute bargain, £7.5M for 2 years for that caliber?! No brainer. Even if he falls off it’s cost us pennies in this market.
2) GK has been our weakest spot for years, we now have a temporary upgrade to help us contend…
Great win for us! Penders gets a clean sheet which is huge especially with the big news. We have a new breakout star it seems in Barco. One to watch going forward. Could be interesting if Enzo is gone. #Chelsea#KTBFFH
@gbengres99@FabrizioRomano@TeleFootball 2 Yashin trophies (Golden Gloves), the highest honour a GK can get. Martinez is proven and 33 is still prime age for most GKs.
£7.5M is an absolute steal and for 2 years, hopefully we can develop Penders in this time and contend for trophies again. Great deal this 🙌
@FabrizioRomano Realising not only that we’ve upgraded Sanchez less than 72 hours after he shit the bed, but that we got a reliable, proven GK and it only cost us £7.5 million 😂 #ABSOLUTESTEAL
@ChelsTransfer 7 or 8. We upgrade massively on Sanchez which is exactly what we need to do but he’s not gonna be a generational No. 1 like Cech/Courtois. We may steal some silverware if we sign him though so I’m all for it. Makes us contenders again for sure.
@FabrizioRomano This should be the easiest signing we’ve made in a long time but I have little faith in our board to pull this off with all the names we have fumbled recently. On the bright side, Sanchez’s disasterclass has united all of football it appears 😂😂
@yinzer_g The amount of people getting triggered trying to defend what football (soccer) has become is killing me 😂😂 I used to be a massive fan but you’re absolutely correct! It’s nice seeing a wider audience talk about it now but you can see there’s no integrity in the sport anymore.
