Ben Stokes is probably my favourite sportsperson. He was flawed, but he gave every single ounce of energy and talent he had. Shown in the timing of announcement, he did it his way. He produced the most memorable performances and provided the greatest wins in a generation. If you wanted courage, sheer will, extraordinary moments and heart, he was the man. One of the best ever
Why do landlords believe it is their right to have an investment which guarantees constant returns? Sorry, investments don't work like that. Get a fucking job.
I agree with all the below. But his inability to drive a government that can tell the story and drive the politics, coupled with some indecision and lack of vision in the manifesto has led to this.
It’s a shame.
If Keir Starmer does resign, history will look back on his reign and scratch its head as to why the hell he was so hated.
On paper, he's probably delivered more to working British people in such a short time than any PM for decades.
After inheriting an absolute mess: NHS waiting lists fallen. Worker's rights improved. Rail operators nationalised. Improved relations with EU and improved UK's global reputation. Removed non-dom tax status. Halved childcare costs. Boosted state pensions. Lowest homicide rate in 50 years. Lifted 550k children out of poverty. Immigration vastly reduced.
We are in the age of billionaire funded misinformation, whose sole purpose is to topple democratically elected leaders, and insert leadership that favours the wealthy elites over the working people. Looks like the game plan is working...
What is the online obsession with prefixing agreement with something with the general disposition of disliking the source?
Wouldn’t say it to someone’s face if they made a point you agree with would you.
I crap on Rory all the time. Likely will again before the week is out. But I 100% agree with him here. Not saying pre-LIV tour schedule was perfect, but far better than what we have now.
Fun fact: Nelly now has two chances to win the career grand slam this season.
- Chevron ✅ (2024, 2026)
- KPMG ✅ (2021)
- U.S. Women’s Open ✅ (2026)
- British
- Evian
You need 4/5 for the career grand slam and 5/5 for the SUPER career grand slam
Strong disagree with the formatting here. Atkinson's 12 against West Indies is three appearances, not one. A 10-fer does not override the five-fer(s) that form it.
I'd rather vote for a Labour MP who wants the rich to be taxed so that benefits don't get cut than a Labour MP who wants benefits to be cut so the rich don't get taxed
@CaraPac46808618@aedmans Correct. And because we were unable to raise debt via the bond market, we went and robbed other countries. Perhaps we should return to that.
Dave Ramsey was stunned after a caller refused to help her dad with $400… after he sold his $1.3M house to his kids for just $450K.
The dad transferred the house to his daughter and son for $50K cash plus the remaining mortgage.
Dave quickly realized the father basically gave away nearly a million dollars in equity… then later ended up broke and asking them for help.
Dave Ramsey:
“He gave you a million-dollar house for half a million.”
The caller tried explaining that her dad was a single father and didn’t save enough for retirement, but Dave completely shut that down.
Dave Ramsey:
“That’s bullcrap.”
He said if the father had simply sold the house normally, he would’ve had hundreds of thousands sitting in the bank instead of struggling for money later.
Dave’s point was simple:
You don’t give away your biggest asset before your own retirement and bills are secure.
