Labour’s core priority mission to grow the economy. A ‘progress’ report:
The UK economy grew by 0.9% in Q1 2024 and 0.5% in Q2 — the last two quarters of Tory rule.
The UK economy did not grow at all in Q3 and by 0.1% in Q4 — the first two quarters of Labour rule.
The economy grew by 1.1% in 2024, pretty much all of it before Labour came to power.
Real GDP per person (which was popular on this platform when the Tories were in power but, strangely, not so much now) did not grow at all in 2024.
The economy declined by 0.1% in January 2025.
