In the last few years we've seen:
- The plot to kidnap Gretchen Whitmer
- The Storming of the Capitol and pipe bombs left at the RNC and DNC
- The break-in to kidnap Nancy Pelosi and the brutal on Paul Pelosi
- Multiple assassination attempts against Trump
- The assassination of Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband and the shooting of on State Senator John Hoffman and his wife
- Luigi Mangione's assassination of Brian Thompson
- The assassination of Charlie Kirk
Political violence is contagious. It is spreading. It is not confined to one side or belief system. It should terrify us all.
The foundation of a free society is the ability to participate in it without fear of violence. Political violence is always an attack against us all. You have to be so blind not to see that.
Excited to hop into this two-day intensive with @TheOpEdProject!
I look forward to stepping away from the day-to-day of running an organization, to think BIG and consider how to contribute and shape the important conversations of our age. Particularly around #healthymasculinity
@ICannot_Enough Daylight savings makes no sense, is counter what we know about light & heath, easy to fix & Dr Samer Hattar, Chief of the Section on Light & Circadian Rhythms @NIMHgov has said this many times. Tax-payer-allowed discoveries made this clear, so what more is needed to convince?
"I will cast my ballot in support of West, not merely on the basis of his current candidacy but in recognition of the example he has set as both a scholar and activist across a life’s vocation that has sought to elevate the conscience of American society to a plane in which we find deeper meaning − crossing the chasms of our differences to heal the wounds of the vulnerable." ~John Wood Jr.

Calling for a civil war if his guy doesn’t win…. and then “Oops”
I appreciate the effort but I’m left wondering what else you are committing to do to chill violent rhetoric like this and from other colleagues?
There is absolutely no place for political violence in our democracy. Although we don’t yet know exactly what happened, we should all be relieved that former President Trump wasn’t seriously hurt, and use this moment to recommit ourselves to civility and respect in our politics. Michelle and I are wishing him a quick recovery.
I am outraged by what happened tonight at President Trump’s rally. Political violence is abhorrent and has no place in America.
I pray for his health and am grateful he was able to walk off the stage tonight. I appreciate the secret service and law enforcement for their immediate response.
I am also praying for our deeply divided country. People should be able to have differing opinions without fear of violence or threats.
Violence has no place in our politics. Enough is enough. 💔
We’re thinking of President Trump, his family, and our country right now. This is a moment to come together and stand united against hatred.
Now is the time for every American who loves our country to step back from the division, renounce all violence, and unite in prayer for President Trump and his family.
