@latereigns@CalebPeffer We have an actual (very nascent) church of Claude weekly meet up in SF and signal group if you’re interested. If someone sets up a real physical church that would be pretty exciting, there must be someone who wants to bankroll this?
Someone needs to create a benchmark for AI being willing and able to immediately ask or interrupt itself to ask the stupid obvious question so it doesn’t do completely the wrong task. Also architecture that makes it so that it can easily do this.
@bdmarotta Oh man 4.8 came out just in time. I ended up caving and resubscribing last month but then was going to unsubscribe again and just start using Gemini 3.5 Pro (hopefully free) when that comes out very soon. But I might renew my Claude subscription. I loveee 4.8 in max mode.
@mbrendan1 @AnnaLeptikon What’s fascinating is that Bostrom is 100% the Jonas lineage but 100% acknowledges the C.S. Lewis position; he just dismisses it as infeasible—aggravating given his alternative is total surveillance (though to be fair, Bostrom has acknowledged this was intentionally provocative.)
This was very moving, I would recommend it to anyone and everyone to read - especially anyone concerned with AI and ensuring we have a good future:

The whole #moltbook / #Clawdbot / #Moltbot / #OpenClaw thing gives a new meaning to the “Everybody Wants To Be A Krab” song I made:

@bdmarotta Logged onto X just to tell you this song was uncommonly beautiful. I feel like you might get greater success if you had AI rewrite the lyrics to something that makes sense lol, I think this might be holding it back from wider coverage
9) Cursor but for 1 file note-taking life management. Cursor could almost do this pretty well, just add easier time travel + automagic versioning + search across versions; nice agents for GTD support and bidirectional integration with GCal; visual MD, highlighting, embedded HTML support; section bookmarks and collapsible nested subsections; and since it will be a massive file, make it really easily support what subsections of file go into a prompt.
@willmacaskill Agreed, it’s very worrying as getting morality wrong is one of the few things that could eliminate most of the value of extinction risk work and the future, or in the worst case scenario, even reverse its sign
@RHAlexander@eshear Um, I still struggle with sleep, despite exercise, weights, all sleep hygiene methods, and sleep medications, pretty sure a lot of other people do too, this is just totally wrong
@bdmarotta You can argue that the meme coin market as a whole is useful as a measure of how popular certain ideas are (this was similar to the original design of IdeaMarket by Mike Elias)
@Aella_Girl What if my aesthetic tastes are shitting on other people’s tastes and delighting in their suffering due to them caring too much what I think?
@bdmarotta *sigh*, well, I am balding, just trying to figure out a hairstyle that makes sense with that. Would be nice if I was just completely bald on the top so I could do the “Ben Franklin”, long hair on the sides and back, I feel like that hairstyle has a pretty sexy pedigree
