Two Norwegian Eurovision fans waving a Palestinian flag ended up sitting next to members of the Israeli delegation — and later asked to vote for the Israeli representative.
After an emotional conversation with the Israeli team, the two explained that they oppose the Israeli government, not Israelis themselves.
They later apologized for the gesture, and the encounter even ended with a hug.
Among the delegation members they met was Yuval Raphael, last year’s Israeli representative and one of the writers of this year’s song, and told her they were fans of hers.
“We couldn’t understand how they were waving a Palestinian flag while also saying they love us and want to visit Israel,” Raphael said.
What does this actually show?
That for many of these people, waving a Palestinian flag doesn’t really mean much.
They don’t fully understand the message behind it or what they’re actually supporting.
For a lot of them, it’s simply a trend — and like most trends, it will eventually fade, leaving very little behind.
Ok real talk,
The United Kingdom entry is actually a banger, and people are only going to hate on it because it's the United Kingdom. If another country sent that exact act, they'd be getting a much better reaction
