Grateful? My 12th GGF was burned at the stake by Mary, Queen of Scots, because he wouldn’t denounce his faith. His widow brought their children across the pond to start Bruton Parish. The Brits tried to control and tax us to death from afar until a group of ragtag militias fought them off. Brits have the gall to suggest we’re young like a little brother to their 1,000-year monarchical rule by a family of self-interested inbreds. Our ancestors persevered in the face of heavy-handed brutality and deserve to be properly remembered. Britain continues to be an oppressive shithole lacking the fundamental freedoms we enjoy and thrive upon in America.
