Blitzkrieging someone's house like a Kirby salesman in 1995 under the guise of "inspecting and testing" and then pressuring equipment upgrades is archaic and greasy. And you're not even priced competitively.

Long contracts and impossible cancelation. SAD.

OK update time. I made the below post on April 21, four days after *thought* I had cancelled. @ADT is an antiquated, greasy operation. Here's what happens when you try to cancel. I hope the dozen people that see this enjoy. 🧵

when you move into a new house that has an @ADT system in it, and you call to simply get it reconnected, they must send a tech out to“inspect” (invade, ironically) your house, and upsell you on 20 gadgets and sign a 3 year contract.
surprised companies still operate this way.

Everything is wireless; techs don't need to run cables all over the house anymore. Most people can DIY mount a motion detector with 3M tape and change its batteries every year. Or screw a camera to the side of their house.
